Our origin

When National Dispute Resolution was formed 5 years ago, our intention was to combine our founding members brought their various expertise from their differing fields including legal education, legal practise and medical practise to form a new type of mediation panel. Our intention from the outset was to provide a expert mediation service that would serve the needs of all of those living the north of England.

Our earliest focus was on Civil & Commercial mediation and a specialist practise in Court of Protection mediation, bringing together members who had practised on the frontlines of the Mental Capacity Act and were determined to improve the legal process for some of the most vulnerable members of society.

Our reputation for this practice was established quickly and we were chosen to run the mediation pilot for the Office of the Public Guardian running what was declared to be a great success by both the OPG and clients of the service. Indeed we were the first to pioneer remote mediation in this setting, and proved that mediation could be provided so as to deliver quality and cost effectiveness.

In 2017 our practice expanded rapidly and we were now covering the whole of the United Kingdom.

As of today we have 127 panel members on our books and deliver thousands of sessions a year to clients in the UK and the EU. Our service has expanded to include teaching, arbitration and research, ensuring NDR is always at the forefront of ADR practise.

Our Ethos

National Dispute Resolution is committed to providing a high quality service that places our clients at the heart of everything we do. As such we are proud to be able to say that we have maintained a 99% positive feedback rate from everybody we have worked with and have received only a single complaint across all of our services.

We are driven by providing an ethical and responsible service with emphasis placed on social responsibility and as such provide pro bono services and training across all of the regions in which we work including for vulnerable members of society and have increased our pro bono training provision in sixth forms and secondary schools across the UK.

We are also commited to being environmentally sustainable and have robust policies on working paper free and limited the impact our servides have on the environment.

We are proud to be commited to being disability confident and have worked hard to ensure equal access to employment and access to our services for everyone. It goes without saying that as a female owned company we ensure that there is no gender pay gap across our service and never will be.

The case was with our solicitors for 4 years and wasn’t really goign anywhere. I’m still in shock it settled by 4pm, I though our solicitor was mad when he suggested mediation.
