Alex J McCulloch
Alex is an experienced mediator whose facilitative approach has received widespread praise from clients and their representatives. His approach is party centred, keeping outcomes focussed on their requirements, he has a reputation for ensuring the best outcomes for both parties.
Alex is frequently instructed on cases falling under the jurisdiction of the Court of Protection having served as the lead mediator on the Office of the Public Guardians Mediation Pilot. In developing this scheme and our Court of Protection mediation training programme, Alex developed a reputation for undertaking mediation in cases that arise out of investigations of allegations of financial misconduct against attorneys, deputies and others.
Alex’s practice in working with emotive and financial disputes between family members is well regarded. Alex has become the mediator of choice for matters that involve dispute between family members and he is highly regarded for his work on contentious probate cases. Alex also has a practice in general commercial cases and is highly regarded for the efficiency of his approach to resolution.
Alex has undertaken over 350 mediations to date with 148 within the framework of the MCA.
In addition to conducting mediations, Alex is the lead mediation trainer with NDR and has developed and delivered both our Civil and Commercial Mediation training programme that is registered with the Civil Mediation Council and our Court of Protection training programme, the first of its kind in the UK. Alex frequently guest lectures in mediation skills and law at several universities in the UK and on the use of mediation in the Court of Protection to various conferences and events.
Outside of work, Alex is a keen racing yachtsmen in the UK and Mediterranean.
